Welcome to EscapeTheLight.com. This site is mainly used as a testing ground for web applications that I am working on. This site also doubles as a personal site for myself.
This is the second iteration of the site. I built it using the SilverStripe CMS, which is a pretty cool CMS/Framework. I am hoping I can get a new design (one that I made) other than the theme that came with the CMS, but it looks cool, so I might keep it for a bit.
I'll be testing some cool things on this server eventually, and posting blog posts. So check back every once in awhile to see what's up, and maybe try out some cool things.
So I decided to take the time this weel to re construct the site. I decided to use a CMS because now I can edit the site from the web instead of uploading files every time I change / add something. Currently I am using a theme provided with the SilverStripe CMS, which I think it pretty cool.
Also I plan on getting all of my projects listed for everyone to see. I have new things on the burner, and some cool ideas (maybe a prog. lang/compiler !!). Plus I am working on a new website in RoR!! All this stuff will be under the projects page.
Also my php framework is currently usable, but not anywhere near complete. The Abstract Model class is in a dire rethinking, but a lot of it will stay the same, I underestimated the ability to pull in db table relationships without having to explicitly call that SQL command. I also want to make everything more modularized, so it is easier to conceptualize how everything works, plus if I want to add anything to the framework it will be simpler. Once I get the base part of the framework done I might make it opensource so everyone can contribute.
Also, school has started up again, so I really hope I can get around to this projects, instead of putting of them on hold until the summer.
